Rasnov Fortress is the largest peasant fortress in southeastern Transylvania. It was built in the 13th century and helped defend the inhabitants of Tara Barsei for several centuries.
Bran Castle is the most famous fortress, mainly due to the legend that it was the residence of the vampire count Dracula. Built in the 14th century, the castle is the main attraction of the area.
Piatra Craiului National Park - is located within the counties of Brasov and Arges, respectively the localities of Zarnesti, Moeciu, Rucar and Dambovicioara, including the Piatra Craiului massif and an area including the Dambovita Gorges and the Ghimbavu Gorges.
