Pensiunea Maria - accommodation in Muntenia (Surrounding)

The Dambovicioarei Gorges - are an important component of the largest gorge complex in the country (the one focused on Dambovita and its tributaries), which adds over 20 gorges, with a total length of over 30 km. The depth of the Dambovicioara brook in the Jurassic limestones of Piatra Craiului generated a long 8 km of keystone with the appearance of a true canyon, cut into a rock stack of limestone bridges in the end of the massif. The gorges are of epigenetic origin, as the river has originally deepened into less harsh sedimentary formations (sandstones, conglomerates), and when it reached the limestone level, its erosion continued, generating the respective narrow valleys.

Dambovicioarei's own keys, dug about 2 km in the limestone bridge between Dambovicioara and Dambovita, are remarkably monumental due to the vertical walls or even bent over the bed, with heights exceeding 200 m. On the surface of the walls can be seen the stratification of the Jurassic gray-white-glossy Jurassic limestones, placed in thick junctures, at the bottom, and the white limestones (lower crests), in boards, at the top.

Piatra Craiului National Park - is located in the districts of Brasov and Arges, respectively Zarnesti, Moeciu, Rucar and Dambovicioara, including the Piatra Craiului massif and an area comprising the Gorges of Dambovita and Ghimbav. Located in the Southern Carpathians, the park includes the 25 km long massif between Zarnesti and Rucar, bounded by Bran-Rucar and Dambovicioara River to the east and south-east, by the Dambovita and Tamas rivers to the east and the Barsa River to the north. Mass access can be made either by Plaiul Foii or by Curmatura.

Location: near the village Podu Dambovitei - at the foot of the Piatra Craiului Mountains, 5 km from Rucar, on the Rucar-Bran route, 25 km from Campulung and 177 km from Bucharest.

Dambovicioara cave - is located in the south of the Piatra Craiului Massif, in the left slope of the Dambovicioara valley (tributary of Dambovita), 1 km north of the village of Dambovicioara, Arges county. The cave was formed for the action of the waters of the Dambovicioara river, which cut into the Jurassic limestone of the Piatra Craiului Massif.

The cave was arranged and is frequented by a significant number of tourists.
