In the summer season (July 1 to September 15) both tours start in front of the tourist information kiosk in the center of Custody Korond and accompanying guidance. In season program starts with just a minimum of 10 participants. We provide details or explanations in the office of the court SlowTours Museum of aragonite or contacts Custody.

Participation ticket costs 40 Euro / person. Children under 4 years participate free. For groups (about 15 people) rate is 25 lei / person.

Tickets are available at the tourist info-kiosk in the center of Custody Korond 15 minutes before the start of court or office SlowTours Museum of Aragon in Korond or retired partner.

Tradition inspired!

Snail Hill is a deposit of carbonate of 1.5 ha. It is considered the highest occurrence of aragonite in Romania, the geological since 1980.Studiul aragonitelor in the area dates from 1884 to 1885. Objects and artifacts of Aragon arrived in 1890 at the World Exhibition in Paris (vases, ashtrays, lamps, cups, fruit, etc). The characteristic of these deposits is that the salt is precipitated from the solution, bicarbonate.

Salt mine
Located 10 km from Sovata in Harghita county, salt mine is one of the largest salt mines in the country and Europe, its exploitation for centuries constituted the source of income for local people, many of them working now in saline.
